About the event

Everywhere in the world has its folk tales — and Hertfordshire is no exception. From dragons to giant robbers, from ghosts walking to the Devil at work all over, every part of the county is rich in legends.

Folk Tales of Hertfordshire is an introduction to that folklore, combining vivid storytelling with a look at what might lie behind some of the stories. Was there a real Jack O’Legs? Did the Wicked Lady actually rob travellers from her Markyate base? Did Blind George really meet the Devil in a subterranean tunnel in Anstey?

Come along to this fascinating talk and learn more about the rich folklore of Hertfordshire.
