Our Supporters
We're extremely grateful to the generous individuals and organisations whose support enables us to fulfil our mission to celebrate and share Royston's history.
As a small independant Museum and registered charity, we are reliant on the generous support of individuals and organisations. It is thanks to this support that we are able to care for our collection, welcome visitors and continue to work to develop the Museum for the benefit of our community.
We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who supports the Museum. Below you will find some of the generous organisations who support us, and what that support has enabled us to achieve.

Royston Town Council
Royston Town Council provides the Museum with the vital core funding we need in order to open our doors, welcome visitors and care for our collections.

Friends of Royston Museum
The Friends of Royston Museum have supported the Museum since 1984. They contribute towards the purchase of equipment and conservation costs. Recent contributions include conservation of the Non-Conformist Cemetery Map, the commission of bespoke items for the shop and a new permanent projector screen and stand.

The Brian Leslie Racher Trust
The Brian Leslie Racher Trust's support has been invaluable in our larger projects. In recent years, they've purchased the furniture in our Research and Community Rooms, helped to upgrade our Collections and Art Stores, and purchased new display cases as part of our 2026 redevelopment.

Royston First
Each year Royston First generously support our programme of events by providing us with valuable funding. This enables us to run school holiday activities, welcome under 5s, and offer a series of monthly talks.

North Herts District Council
North Herts District Council's support has been invaluable in our larger projects. In recent years, they've helped to upgrade our Collections and Art Stores, funded the development of new learning programmes and loan boxes for schools, and supported the installation of our air source heat pumps.

Museum Development South East
As well as providing free trainings, MDSE's grants have supported a range of projects from our Royston Museum Goes Green project, to collections care and staff and volunteer development. Thanks to MDSE our staff are also certified Carbon Literate.

Hertfordshire Association of Museums
Hertfordshire Association of Museums provide us with invaluable advice and support. Their small grants programme has supported our smaller projects. Plus, in 2025 and 2026, we won the Environmental Sustainablity Award at their annual awards.

Royston & District Local History Society
In 1965, RDLSH was formed with the purpose of providing a museum for Royston, and members began collecting items of local historical interest. In 2025, they donated the Museum's collection into the ownership of the Museum Trust.

The Association of Independent Museums
The Museum is a member of the Association of Independent Museums. They have provided funding to enable our staff to become first aid trained, and their bursary enabled our Museum Director to attend the 2025 conference.

Johnson Matthey
As well as providing funding to the Museum, Johnson Matthey have also provided volunteer support. This has included volunteers to decorate our Collections and Art Stores during their upgrades.

Hertfordshire Community Foundation
Hertfordshire Community Foundation funded our Warm Space in 2024.

Hertfordshire Heritage Fund
The Hertfordshire Heritage Fund was launched in 1988 as a charitable trust, to assist accredited museums in the county to purchase or conserve items relating to Hertfordshire's past. Their support has enabled us to purchase new items for the Museum's collection.
