School Visits
Our workshops are are designed to nurture your pupils' curiosity and inspire conversations, connecting them to people and places, past and present.

Playtime!
Discover toys and games throughout history. How do the toys we play with today compare to our grandparents and those living hundreds of years ago? Your pupils will get hands on with original and replica toys, think about what they’re made from, who would have played with them and how they compare to toys today.​

Prehistoric Royston
Running right through the centre of Royston, the Icknield Way is considered one of the oldest roads in Britain. Your pupils will discover what Royston and the surrounding area was like during the prehistoric period through recreations of local archaeological digs.

Royston Through History
65-95 million years ago, the area we now call home was under a warm shallow sea: time travel through millions of years and discover Royston’s history. Using original and replica objects and photographs, your pupils will discover how Royston has grown and changed to become the town it is today.

Read All About It!
The printing press at the heart of the Museum once printed every Royston Crow from 1855 to the 1960s. Your pupils will discover what makes an eye-catching headline using the Crow’s front pages, before printing their own headlines on the printing press.​

Loan Boxes - Available September 2025
Our loan boxes are designed to support your pupils' learning in the classroom through a range of objects, photographs and documents relating to Royston's past.
